Fm104 gave our listeners to go see a preview screening of the brand new Will Ferrell film Blades of Glory

ANDYS REVIEW
Will Ferrell’s new project see’s him taking to the ice as Chazz Michael Michaels, male figure skater ‘Personal Philosophy: Clothing Optional.’ He’s joined in the rink by Jimmy MacElroy (Jon Heder of Napoleon Dynamite fame). The plot is a simple yet disturbing one, the flamboyantly dressed two are banned from male figure skating after a hilarious bust-up on the winner’s podium only to join forces and become ice dancing only male pair. The film while not living up to the high standards set by Ferrell’s earlier outings (Anchorman, Old School) or for that matter Heder’s breakout movie Napoleon Dynamite offers enjoy laugh’s and Ferrell one liners to keep you entertained for the hour and a half duration. Where the movie really falters is the rivalry between Michael Michaels and MacElroys characters with the brother/sister figure skating paring played by Will Arnett from the hit US TV series Arrested Development and Amy Poehler of Saturday Night Live fame whose characters add very little to the overall movie. A bit of a disappointment, lets hope the summer has more to offer in the way of laugh out loud comedy’s, look out for the new film by ‘The 40 Year Old Virgin’ Director Judd Apatow ‘Knocked Up’ staring the beautiful Katherine Heigl from ‘Grey’s Anatomy.
